Get Your Oman eSIM on WhatsAppGleeSim connects you to Oman's local 4G and 5G networks
Oman sits outside most home roaming bundles, so data is usually charged per day or per MB. GleeSim gives you local Oman data at a fixed price, managed in one WhatsApp chat.
A tourist SIM at the airport means a queue and passport registration after your flight. Your eSIM is already on the phone, so you can book a taxi or message your hotel from the arrivals hall.
Come for Muscat's warm winters or Salalah's green Khareef season from July to September. The 30 day plans cover a full trip either way.
Nizwa, Jebel Akhdar, Wahiba Sands and Sur on one plan. Coverage is good on the main roads, and we tell you honestly where it drops.
Staying for a season or visiting family? The 10GB, 90 Days plan keeps you connected for three months without buying a new SIM.
GleeSim runs as a second data line. Your own SIM stays in the phone, so your WhatsApp number, bank codes and family groups stay the same.
Low on data in Salalah or Khasab? Send one message and we add data to the same eSIM. No new QR code and no shop visit.
All three plans work on Oman networks in Muscat, Salalah, Nizwa, Sur and Musandam. Use code GLEE10 when you order on WhatsApp for an extra 10% off. Not sure which fits? Message us your dates.

Answers to the questions travellers ask us most before an Oman trip.
For a week in Muscat or a short Nizwa and Wahiba Sands loop, the Oman 5GB, 30 Days plan is usually enough. For a longer road trip or Khareef in Salalah, choose the Oman 10GB, 30 Days plan. If you are staying for a season or visiting family, the Oman 10GB, 90 Days plan lasts three months.
A tourist SIM card from the Omantel or Ooredoo kiosk at Muscat airport is good value, but you queue after your flight and register your passport before it works. An eSIM is installed at home, so you have data as soon as you land and your own SIM stays in the phone. If you are happy to queue, the kiosk is cheaper. If you want to be online straight away, the eSIM is easier.
Yes. Muscat International Airport has strong 4G and 5G. If you installed your eSIM at home, it connects as soon as you turn on Data Roaming after landing, so you can book a taxi or message your hotel before you reach passport control.
Yes. Salalah has excellent 4G on Omantel and Ooredoo. During Khareef, from July to September, the city fills with visitors and speeds can drop at busy times and in the mountains around Ayn Khor and Wadi Darbat. The 10GB, 30 Days plan suits a full Khareef trip.
At the desert camps on the edge of the Wahiba Sands you usually get a signal. Deeper into the dunes it becomes weak or disappears, whichever network you use. Download offline maps and share your location with someone before you drive in.
In Khasab town, yes, on Omantel. Out in the fjords on a dhow cruise the signal comes and goes, and some inlets have none. Send your messages before you board and expect to be offline for parts of the trip.
On the main road up Jebel Akhdar and around the resorts you get 4G. On hiking trails, in deep wadis and near the summits it is patchy. Download your hiking route before you set off.
Yes. WhatsApp voice and video calls work in Oman on mobile data as of 2026, along with FaceTime and Google Meet. Call quality depends on your signal, so calls are clearest in towns and weaker in the desert and mountains.
No. The Oman plans only work in Oman. If you are driving between Dubai and Muscat or crossing into Musandam from Ras Al Khaimah, add a UAE eSIM for the UAE part of the trip. You can order both in the same WhatsApp chat.
Yes. Winter Gulf cruises often call at Muscat and Khasab. Your eSIM works in port and on shore, so you can use maps and messages on your day ashore. It does not work at sea, where the ship uses its own network.
Many nationalities can visit Oman visa free for up to 14 days, and in 2026 Oman added a free 14 day tourist visa for more countries. Others need an e-visa before they travel. Rules change, so check the Royal Oman Police e-visa website before you book.
No. After you scan your QR code, everything else happens in WhatsApp. You check your balance, top up and get help by sending a message.
Any eSIM-capable phone that is not locked to one network works. That includes iPhone XS and newer, Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, Google Pixel 3 and newer, and most recent flagship Android phones. Check for an Add eSIM option in your mobile data settings.
No. The GleeSim Oman eSIM is data only and does not include a +968 number for normal calls or SMS. Your home number stays active on your main SIM, and you can call hotels and tour drivers over WhatsApp.
Send us a WhatsApp message and we add more data to the same eSIM within minutes. You don't need a new QR code or a shop.
Driving on to the UAE, adding Umrah or stopping over in the Gulf? GleeSim covers these destinations with the same WhatsApp setup.
Whether it is a winter week in Muscat, Khareef in Salalah or a road trip through the mountains and the sands, GleeSim gets you online the moment you land. No roaming bill, no airport SIM queue and no app to install.
